Jeff Weir grew up in Athol, Idaho on 34 acres of forest and fell in love with the outdoors and wildlife. In the spring, summer and fall he has his own arborist business and started painting a few winters ago in the slow season. He is a self-taught artist; gaining skill through practice and studying a mixture of oil colors. His grandmother was an oil painter and he uses her mixing sheets (on the wall in his studio behind him) as a reference. Jeff has a passion for making quality art that reflects the northwest wildlife and all its’s beauty and when he puts oil to canvas he creates style that is uniquely his own.
He has been featured in the Inlander for his artwork, has done shows at the Museum of Arts and Culture in Spokane as well as Emerge in Coeur d’Alene. He also teaches painting at Emerge.
