LuAnn Ostergaard, Pacific Northwest photographer and celebrated artist, is known for capturing quintessential beauty from weathered and rusty surfaces.
Her images are most often combined and overlaid with one of her distinctive representational photographs. Together they often transcend their original source and become elevated to striking and colorful compositions suggesting abstract landscapes.
She prints her work in the studio using pigment inks on archival fine art paper. The print is mounted to a custom made cradle frame and hand textured with clear medium for a brushstroke look. The finished piece has a magical painterly feel. Found objects picked up along her travels to the places where she shoots are often attached to the artwork to create a focal point.
Her work hangs in fine homes and corporate environments across the U.S. And in six countries.
She lives and works in Kennewick, WA in a home studio that overlooks a pastoral view for inspiration
